Climbing for Scout Groups, Foróige, Girl Guides & More
Dublin Climbing Centre is a popular venue for youth organisations looking for a challenging, fun, and genuinely memorable activity. We work with Scout groups, Foróige, Irish Girl Guides, youth clubs, and similar organisations across Dublin and Leinster.
Our Garda-vetted, qualified instructors take care of everything on the day, or we can train your own leaders to run sessions independently, a cheaper option in the long run.
Many leaders use a session as a Scouts badge activity, Foróige programme night, or Guides adventure challenge, we can work with your programme requirements.

Adventure Activities for Scout Groups, Guides & Youth Clubs
Our climbing sessions are designed around the needs of Scout troops, Guide units, Foróige groups, youth clubs, and community organisations. Whether you’re planning an adventure activity, badge programme, leadership challenge, or annual outing, we can tailor the experience to suit your members.
Active, high-energy sessions where young people explore climbing while supervised by our qualified staff. A great fit for a Scout activity badge, a Foróige programme night, or a Guides adventure outing.
All instructors are Garda vetted and trained in the inclusive Climbing for All approach, designed to ensure every member of your group has a positive experience, regardless of ability or background.
We can provide a risk assessment document suitable for your organisation’s group leader requirements or insurance records. All equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to the highest standards.
Youth organisations often meet in the evenings or at weekends. We work around your meeting schedule and can open earlier than standard hours when needed. Get in touch to discuss what works for your group.
Midweek Youth Organisation Sessions
Youth organisations booking midweek sessions can take advantage of a discounted rate: a 1.5-hour session for the price of a 1-hour session. That’s 30 extra minutes on the wall at no extra cost, meaning more climbing time for your members and better value for your group’s treasury.
It’s ideal for Scouts, Guides, or Foróige groups who want to make the most of an activity without stretching their budget.
The youth organisation rate applies when all of the following conditions are met:
Monday to Friday sessions, excluding bank holidays, midterms and summer periods. Works well for groups that meet on weekday evenings during the year.
Sessions starting at or before 5pm qualify for the youth organisation rate. Get in touch if your group typically meets later and we’ll see what we can do.
The discounted rate applies to groups of 16 or more members. Combining two troops or units to hit this threshold is absolutely fine.
NICAS for Scout Groups, Guides & Youth Clubs
NICAS works particularly well for youth organisations because it mirrors the structured progression found in many badge and achievement programmes. Members develop climbing skills over multiple sessions while working towards a recognised award.
It gives your members a clear progression pathway and a tangible award to work towards, fitting naturally alongside other badge or achievement programmes run by Scout Ireland, Irish Girl Guides, Foróige, and similar organisations.
A Recognised Award for Young Climbers
NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) is the UK’s national youth climbing award programme with five progressive levels. Level 1 — New Climber, is the starting point and runs across six structured sessions, making it a natural fit for a term-long youth group programme.
- Discounted €18 p/p per session for qualifying youth organisation groups
- Participants receive an official NICAS Level 1 certificate and (optional) personal logbook
- Suitable for young people aged 8 and above
- Builds climbing skills, confidence, teamwork, and safety awareness over time
- Complements existing badge and achievement frameworks used by many youth organisations
Leaders: Learn to Belay & Bring Your Members Any Time
If you’re a youth leader who wants the flexibility to bring your members to the wall without booking an instructor-led session, our Top-Rope Induction course could be the answer.
Once you’ve completed the induction, a qualified adult with written parental/guardian consent can belay and supervise up to 2 Under-18 climbers at Dublin Climbing Centre independently. Your U18s just need a day pass and you can stay as long as you like. You don’t even have to pay for an entry if you’re just supervising and not climbing! It’s a much more cost-effective option for youth groups who climb a regular basis.
The Go-To Climbing Venue for Dublin Youth Organisations
Dublin Climbing Centre is one of Ireland’s leading indoor climbing facilities. Youth organisations choose us because we make the experience seamless for leaders, from the moment you book to the moment your group heads home.
We regularly host Scout troops, Foróige groups, Irish Girl Guide units, and other youth clubs, and we understand how these organisations work. We’re flexible, experienced with mixed-ability groups, and happy to accommodate different troop or unit sizes.
All instructors are trained in the Climbing for All approach, ensuring every session is inclusive whatever the mix of abilities in your group.
